How do you grind out reps?
How do you step up to the platform and attempt rep after rep?
How do you even warm up when every joint aches and every muscle whines?
Own the platform.
Own the barbell.
They must do exactly as you tell them to: if you tell the platform to push against your legs, it will.
If you demand that the barbell rise with your pull, it will.
In what sometimes seems like a weightlifting underworld, we are the royalty.
We put in the effort. We grind out reps. We move within fractions of a degree. We lift the weight.
Rule your training with an iron psyche and you will rule the competition platform.
1-3: painful and wimpy
4-7: decent, getting warm, crushing weights like nobody's business
7-10: Fatigue sets in, grind out of the bottom, jerk like your life depends on it.
Not bad considering my current max is 102.
I will admit, the first rep (the clark) was painful. Physically and mentally.
The first lift was even more painful, everything hurt.
I told myself I would do 3 and stop.
Matt pointed out that the program said 'until failure'
Failure is never an option...
So we called it at 10 reps.
Rule the platform with an iron psyche.
You are capable of more than you know.
